Pins

By Shannon and Jason

It goes without much debate that the pins are the multi-tasking wonder of any creative space. And, more often than not, we tend to take them for granted until we can’t find one… or as the case might be, find the RIGHT one. Our philosophy in our art and life is to Embrace the Creative Chaos which means we have a w-i-i-i-de variety of projects going on all at once at any given time. So, for us, having the right pin at the right time is vital.

Our remedy, like that of many makers, is to have a variety of pins available in several pin cushions in every space where we work. No, really… we have pin stashes all over the house and in all of our project boxes. It’s a thing. From small patchwork pins to large flower head pins, Clover has, thankfully, the perfect pin for every project so we are never far from what we need.

That said, we are partial to the longer Quilting Pins for the majority of our work, but if we do a project with finer fabrics, we reach for their Silk Pins or the Quilting Pins (Fine) which are thinner and are less likely to leave nasty holes in more delicate fabric.

If you’re into appliqué Clover’s applique pins are just the small ticket you’re looking for: Short and thin with a glass head. The head makes holding them easier than other short pins and also allows for ironing right on top of them. These are just the tip of the iceberg of pins that Clover has… blocking pins, forked pins, marble glass head pins… the list goes on. You’re sure to find the right pin for your project.

Pin Cushions

Looking for a straightforward method for creating a perfect custom pincushion? Clover has the Create-a-Pincushion kit which is super easy to assemble. Literally it takes about 3 minutes to make one. Just customize the fabric to make a quick pincushion and before you can say “sham-wow” you’ll have your pins sorted and secure.
