“Quick Cut” Thread Cutter

What is it? – Is there anything more exciting than sitting down with a stack of gorgeous fabric in front of you and an image of the most incredible quilt solidly focused in your mind? Maybe we just found the ultimate Charm Pack at our favorite quilt shop. We just can’t wait to start putting it all together, to see that creative vision solidly locked in our minds finally realized at our sewing station. Once we get the blocks in order we take them over to our sewing station and that’s where the magic begins. We sew two bocks together and cut our thread. Sew two more blocks together and cut that thread. Over and over and over. Mind numbing medium at best. There has to be a better way. And there is. Chain piecing. What is chain piecing? It’s a sewing technique described by almost everyone as an “assembly line” for quilt construction. We just sew block after block without cutting our thread in between each set. You actually save both time and thread. Sew the first set together with a ¼” seam and then, without cutting the thread on the sewing machine sew the next two squares and on and on, set after set until complete. Before we can go on, however, we have to cut the “chain stitches” between each set. We’ve saved time sewing our squares into pairs. Is there a way to save time separating the pairs? Scissors? Snips? We need something fast and easy and convenient. And we do, Clover’s new “Quick Cut” Thread Cutter.

What does it do? – Chain piecing is the fastest and most economical way to assemble pieces of our quilt tops. Cutting those many, many pieces apart is the real bottleneck in the process. Thread trimmers on the sewing machines have difficult access. Scissors require us to manipulate the quilt components with one hand and while cutting with the other. F-a-t-i-g-u-e, that’s how you spell it. The Quick Cut Thread Cutter allows us to quickly and easily separate our component pieces in a safe and efficient manner. The small accessible size and shape of the “Quick Cut” makes it right at home at our sewing station. The non-slip base holds it steady for all of our cuts. The Quick Cut has an adjustable internal rotating blade that allows us to always have a sharp blade section available to cut our threads, making all of our cuts clean and accurate. When the time comes the blade can be replaced by a new 45mm rotary blade. Always sharp and always ready.

How do I share it? – Clover’s Quick Cut Thread Cutter is the perfect addition to any sewing station. Handy and unobtrusive, it is the “go to” cutting tool for those quick cuts required at the sewing machine or for any number of other thread cutting requirements. Put a sample or two at your demo machines and keep one at check out. Once your friends see how convenient they are it will be a must at their sewing studios.
